Sabastian Vettel Happy With Australian Qualifying

Sabastian Vettel has had a great start to the new formula 1 racing season with a fantastic performance during qualifying today. Vettel said “In one sense this was a good session as I had a strong pace in Q2. I had a good lap at the end of it. Unfortunately, a technical problem meant I could not take part in Q3, but whatever happens I plan to attack to the maximum in the race.”

Here is a photograph of the brand new R28 Renault formula 1 racing car. This will be the machine that Fernando Alonso will return to after a one year absence to try and regain the f1 championship that he has won twice before. The new machine has similar colours to last year but has major modifications that include huge advances in aero dynamics and power distribution, it also has an uprated gear box.

Here is the new 2008 Honda Formula 1 racing car. The new car has a fresh design and has been reported as having made huge advances from last years car. This corralates with interviews and comments made by Jenson Button who has said he has faith in the car this year and is excited by developments and future additions that will be added at a later date.

Lewis Hamilton Takes Pole At Australia

Lewis hamilton has gained pole position for the first race of the 2008 formula 1 season. Kimi Raikkonen had some bad luck with his Ferrari and had to retire from qualifying due to a problem with his oil pump, the result is that Raikkonen has to start 16th place on the grid.
Robert Kubica also had a flyer and has put his BMW on the front of the grid for the first time in his carreer, he will start in second place behind Hamilton. Heikki Kovalainen drove well and deserved the third spot on the grid with ferrari’s Felipe Massa coming in a close fourth on the grid. Fernando Alonso only managed 10th place, here is a full breakdown of qualifying.

Kimi Raikkonen Car Breaks Down During Qualifying In Australia

Qualifying at the Australian Grand Prix has finished and the first race of the season is set. The qualifying sessions did not pass with out incident as this video shows. This video shows Kimi Raikkonen drifitng out of qualifying due to a oil pump problem on his Ferrari. The result is that Raikkonen will start the race in 16th place on the grid tomorrow. This is not the best start for the Ferrari number one but I am sure he has the skills to work his way through the field. Watch the video to see the drama unfold.

Ferrari F2008 F1 Racing Car Photo

This photo shows the brand spanking new Ferrari Formula 1 car - the F2008. The car is obviously in the trade mark red and features a whole host of new features. The main updates include advances in aerodynamics, electronics, suspension and all important updates to the gearbox to make it more hardy for the new 2008 season rules. This should result in the car being even quicker with razor sharp handling. This is one hot car.

What do you think of Fernando Alonso’s new helmet? I like the colour and design, it’s similar to Lewis Hamiltons too which we all know is modelled on ayrton senners famous yellow helmet.
