Sabastian Vettel Happy With Australian Qualifying

Sabastian Vettel has had a great start to the new formula 1 racing season with a fantastic performance during qualifying today. Vettel said “In one sense this was a good session as I had a strong pace in Q2. I had a good lap at the end of it. Unfortunately, a technical problem meant I could not take part in Q3, but whatever happens I plan to attack to the maximum in the race.”

Lewis Hamilton Dismissis Worries Over Dennis

There have been some reports that Ron Dennis is likely to step down as boss of Mclaren later on this week. There have also been rumours that Lewis Hamilton may be feeling slight unrest due to this rumour, would life be the same with Martin Whitmarsh as his boss?
Well it seems Lewis is taking this news in his stride and has pledged his future to Mclaren. He has said,
“If Ron wants to go then he must go,” the 23-year-old told German magazine Focus.
“My partnership with Mercedes-Benz is just as strong as my relationship with McLaren, so I am completely relaxed.” Well said Lewis, good luck with the new season from the team at formula 1 racing.
Nico Rosberg Sets Speed Benchmark In Wet At Barcelona Testing

Nico Rosberg set the fastest time today on a wet track. Rosberg drove his Williams Formula 1 car in 1 mutute and 30.67 seconds. This was 2 seconds quicker than the second fastest time clocked by Williams Team mate Kazuki Nakjima.
The time was set as part of the testing at the Barcelona race track. Williams have been concentrating on the cars performance and endurance. Here are the unofficial standings recorded on Tuesday from Bareclona:
1. Nico Rosberg, Williams, 1:30.675 seconds
2. Kazuki Nakajima, Williams, 1:32.370 seconds
3. Mark Webber, Red Bull, 1:32.599 seconds
4. Fernando Alonso, Renault, 1:32.820 seconds
5. David Coulthard, Red Bull, 1:32.924 seconds
6. Jarno Trulli, Toyota, 1:33.283 seconds

Fernando Alonso Fits Right Back In At Renault

For the skeptics out there that thought Fernando Alonso would struggle upon arrival back at the Renault formula 1 team we have some footage that may be of interest to you! This video of Fernando Alonso shows him thoroughly testing his car at Jerez last week.
From what I can see he has slotted right back in at Renault which is great as it means this season will be even more exciting that 2007. Now Lewis Hamilton and Alonso can really battle it out! I can’t wait.
Lewis Hamilton Wins Breakthrough Award

Lewis Hamilton has been awarded the Breakthrough of the year title at the glitzy Laureus World Sports Awards after his amazing rookie year in formula 1 racing.
Hamilton had the best rookie season on record finishing just one point shy of world champion Kimmi Raikkonen. He performed with consistency throughout the entire F1 season and provided entertainment for thousands of fans all over the world.
Lewis picked up his award on Monday night and rubbed shoulders with other sporting legends such as the south African rugby squad and Roger Federer.
